Here are the approved minutes of the May 2025 Community Council Meeting.

Benarty Centre

Proposed as accurate by C. Howe and seconded by J. Colquhoun.
3. Matters arising from the minute of the previous meeting
Our item had been on the agenda for the Cowdenbeath Area Committee, requesting should the Ballingry Settlement Trust scheme be dissolved, could the BCC be in charge of the monies—  Advised (so far) Scheme not dissolved and local councillors in charge of the funds, and BCC can apply to it for Local Place Plan projects.
4. Police Report
Emailed.  C. Howe wanted further information on the assaults at Benore. DD 5th June

St. Kenneth’s School

Benarty Primary

The school were holding a race night to raise money (3/6/25)

 

Pantry was going well, although Fairshare haven’t been great.

 

The Food Angels purchased a fridge for the school.

 

Summer disco has been organised.

 

Ongoing issues with parking. Teachers are clamping down and you now need to have a ticket to get in.

 

8. Treasurer
Received £500 unrestricted funding from Foundation Scotland.

 

Received £3,000 from Benarty Centre Management Committee towards Newsletter costs.

9.       Secretary
  Review of the scheme item from C. Howe and J. Purdie circulated.

 

Invited Richard Baker, M.P. to attend future CC meetings.

 

Talking to CISWO to find out who owns the space up the avenue with potential for it to be used for motorcycles.

11. Update from Fife Council Ward Councillors
Cllr. L. Erskine

Re. Annual report for Lochore Meadows Country Park: she wrote to Paul Vaughn, asking for a note to head of the communities about a budget fit for purpose.  She also requested that the toilets be open to the public more.

 

She’d spoken to Police Scotland about ASB figures which claim to be down, the Fire Brigade and the public say it’s not the case, Stagecoach stated that their drivers and conductors are needing to wear stab vests, and the Co-op is losing thousands of pounds due to theft.

 

 

 

 

12. AOCB
Review of the Community Councils scheme – summation FC wants us to adopt the scheme and constitution vs. them both being the same thing.
