
Benarty Community Council Meeting: Thursday 5 December 2024

There were no declarations of interests.
Minutes of previous meeting
The minutes of the previous meetings (both October and December as no-one from October meeting was present at the November meeting) were read by everyone.
October: Proposed by Sarah and seconded by Debbie.
December: Proposed by John and seconded by Jack.
Matters Arising
Emails from Prof John Sturzaker to arrange meetings.
Place Plan brochures handed out, extras will be in Benarty Centre, Community Shop and BRAG. Launch confirmed 6.30 p.m. at Benarty Centre 23rd January.
Pauline Grandison emailed a list of invites for launch event, it was decided to give invites to local groups, schools, MPs, MSPs, press etc, also.
Creche room booked and catering for 40 to be provided by White Feather catering, tea and coffee provided via Centre and discussion on provision of wine and/or fizzy drinks. Coalfields Regeneration were covering costs.
John Purdie volunteered to host the evening and introduce the Place Plan with the inclusion of the Climate Plan, also.
After LPP launch it was decided that the next step was steering groups, sign-up sheets and gauging interest at the launch, with BCC leading the way on the steering groups but they should be inclusive of all the local groups and interested parties.
Submitted COY nomination forms available for reading, it was decided to have the awards evening either 20th or 27th of March, catering to be decided after LPP launch.
Decisions on winners of the COY to be made at February meeting, in private.
Ballingry Settlement Trust – John queried after hearing of a potential review leading to an amalgamation or dissolution of smaller trusts, via Cowdenbeath Area Committee. Trying to contact FC about this, however we want it on record that we are against this.
Reports
Police report emailed, no in person report.
Treasurer: copies of balance sheet handed out; micro-grant for £250 and £339.30 for Winter issue of newsletter.
Secretary: informed of Climate Action workshop at Lochgelly Centre Feb 20th 11-2 p.m. and that there had been a few technical issues with the website, now resolved.
St. Kenneths: nothing to report.
Benarty: Lisa not in attendance.
Chair: was also not in attendance.
