The Community Council decided to seek nominations for the Citizen of The Year Award. However it must be noted that, due to covid restrictions, there may not be a public award ceremony. If you know of a person who deserves to be Citizen of the Year, a friend or a neighbour, someone who really cares for others, a person who works for the benefit of the community either on their own or as part of a group – they can be considered for the award.
The nominee must be a resident of the Benarty Area who has displayed selfless service, courage under adversity or brought distinction to the area during the preceding twelve months. A person will not be considered if their nomination is associated with their employment. Service performed during the 2020 Covid pandemic will be considered.
Important: The proposer must obtain the nominee’s permission and signature before they put their name forward.
You can download the form, complete it and return it to The Benarty Centre in Flockhouse Avenue before Friday 17th December.
You can download the form from this link.
Forms will also be left at the Benarty Centre.
