BENARTY COMMUNITY COUNCIL MINUTES OF MEETING ON THURSDAY 7 SEPTEMBER 2023
2 Chair Welcome
Chair welcomed all to the meeting..
Present: Community Councillors: Jack Colquhoun, John Purdie, Debbie Doyle (Chair), Charlotte Howe, Sarah Ratcliffe, Stephen Scott

There were no exceptional items.
5 Minutes of the Previous Meetings
The minutes of the previous meeting were read. They were proposed as correct by Jack Colquhoun and seconded by Sarah Ratcliffe
6 Matters Arising
John Purdie noted the ongoing progress of the Local Place Plan.
7 Police Report
The police report had been circulated to Community Councillors
40 Reports
Sarah Jane Ratcliffe updated on St Kenneth’s. There was a parents council meeting where they were looking forward to planning events such as Halloween Disco, Xmas Fair and Big family quiz. There was a tour of the new facilities and they are looking fabulous, including a new kitchen. They were gifted pantomime tickets for the kids but were looking for help with transportation and ideas of which groups to contact for help. A few were suggested. The Meedies Running Club donated £600. Jack Colquhoun updated on the finances noting that the Community Council now has online banking. Charlotte How noted that the new issue of the newsletter was out and online. They were still considering contacting Fife Council for quote on printing as well as looking for more adverts for the next issue. People were contacting them and the new issue was well received. John Purdie was asked to forward correspondence from Fife Council Planning about the issue regarding the premises on Main Street Crosshill.
12 Open Forum, Any other Competent Business
Charlotte Howe brought up the issue of the forthcoming Community Council elections and it was explained that there would be a process Fife Council would go through, the current community council would step down and the new one would be elected, have a first meeting to elect office bearers and then commence normal business. Charlotte Howe also broached the subject of other meetings Community Council groups had and the Community council agreed on the matter and confirmed it would pay for teas and coffees at meetings even if there was none consumed. Stephen Scott noted that he had contacted a local builder about a local residential project and the state of the roads and was informed by the builder that they would not take responsibility, it was the responsibility of utilities who had also denied responsibility Stephen Scott had raised the matter with Fife Council and would keep the Community Council informed.
