BENARTY COMMUNITY COUNCIL MINUTES OF MEETING ON THURSDAY 4 JANUARY 2024

Chair Welcome

Chair welcomed all to the meeting.

Apologies, Maggie Bell, David Hynd, Stephen Scott, Kath Donnachie, Anne Hay

Declaration of Interests

No declarations were made.

Minutes of the Previous Meeting

The minutes of the meeting read, and were proposed by Charlotte Howe and seconded by Debbie Doyle.

Matters Arising

The issue of the Logo was to be cleared up, and it is understood contact would be made with those who offered to make a logo and attendance at the February meeting would bring further progress.

Police Report

The police report had been received and was circulated to Community Councillors

Reports

The schools provided reports: St Kenneth’s had a busy month, attended a pantomime and there was a Christmas fair. Benarty Primary also attended a pantomime and had a fair which raised £500, a car boot sale was looked into. Treasurer noted the report circulated. Secretary brought up the subject of the Resilience fund and that the best way to use it was to provide for those most affected direct. The Ballingry Settlement Fund was raised including the disturbing possibility of it being closed and its funds redistributed elsewhere.

Open Forum, Any other Competent Business

No business was brought up.

Citizen of the Year

It was agreed that an award for Gordon Mackie for people not resident in Benarty who do volunteer and other good work in the Benarty area would be introduced, the date for the award ceremony was agreed and contact would be made with possible presenters of the award.

Micro Grants

Following further information from the Romi Clarke Dance School the Community Council declined the award.

Agreement:  Contact Fife Council about the Ballingry Settlement Trust, Complete Resilience application, confirm date of Citizen of The Year Award and confirm six thirty start for the February meeting.
